Qualified candidates should have a strong working knowledge and demonstrated success in managing the marketing/public relations efforts of an organization – a preference for experience in a not-for-profit CCRC is strongly desired though not essential.

A successful candidate cultivates and sustains a team-based work environment, with keen attention being placed upon soliciting feedback from knowledgeable and affected stakeholders.

The following is a non-exhaustive summary of important functions of the position:

  • Embodies and articulates the vision and mission of the organization inside and outside of the community.

  • Develops and compiles a competitive market analysis comparing the community with the surrounding competition for presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • Maintains occupancy requirements and meets the annual resale budget for apartments, country homes, and carriage homes.
  • Serves as an active participant in the admissions process. Maintains a priority list, working with the marketing staff to ensure that tours are scheduled promptly, guides prospective residents through the financial, medical, and insurance evaluation process, ensures that the unit turnover and move-in process is operating effectively, and ensures that new resident orientation is successfully completed.
  • Leads in a manner that consistently promotes collaboration, trust, openness, honesty, integrity, empowerment, and shared accountability for success.
  • Exhibits leadership and management skills necessary to ensure that the department provides exceptional service within and outside of the community.
  • Works closely with new residents and key personnel (i.e., the Director of Campus Operations, independent contractors, etc.) to ensure that the transition process is running smoothly.
  • Works closely with the transition team to monitor resident moves from independent living through our continuum of care.
  • Tracks timely turnover in units to ensure that they are available to prospective residents and keeps track of the priority list at all times. Keeps President/CEO, members of the Marketing Committee, and Board of Trustees informed of critical departmental activities.
  • Cultivates and maintains constructive communication with residents, staff members, contractors, and members of the community at large
  • Promotes a workplace culture that attracts, supports, empowers, and retains members of the department.

Our successful incumbent will have the following experience/education/credentials:

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in marketing or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience overseeing marketing operations — with experience in healthcare/CCRC strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing, admissions, public relations, community relations, and real estate.
  • Strong management skills combined with a commitment to creativity that allows for continued improvement in quality, productivity, and financial position of the organization.
