LW Consulting, Inc. (LWCI) had the pleasure of attending the 2025 LeadingAge PA Annual Conference & Expo. This year’s theme was IMPACT – the impact that we have on our peers and the future of aging services.

The conference kicked off with an incredible keynote by Ryan Leak on his book “Leveling Up: 7 Questions for Next-Level Leadership.” He discussed identifying personal success and the questions that you need to ask yourself to “level up.”

Another influential session was a workshop, “Strengthening Bonds Through Intentional Conversations,” which aligned with the keynote topic. The workshop explored strengthening leadership and relationships with team members by embracing diversity and approaching difficult conversations with empathy.

The topics of these sessions and the theme of the conference align with leadership development, personal and professional growth, and enhancing interpersonal relationships within the aging services sector. Specifically, they focus on:

  • Empowering leaders to reflect and grow through self-assessment and intentional questioning (as highlighted by Ryan Leak’s keynote on “Leveling Up”).
  • Building stronger, more empathetic workplace relationships by fostering intentional conversations and embracing diversity.
  • Creating a positive impact on peers and the future of aging services through effective leadership and meaningful communication.

These themes support the broader goal of advancing leadership capacity and improving team dynamics to better serve the aging community. At LWCI, we believe that leadership and coaching are fundamental tools to unlock this potential. Intentional conversations provide a space for honest dialogue, deeper understanding, and trust-building, which are essential when navigating complex challenges. Embracing diversity not only enriches perspectives but also encourages innovation and resilience.

Moreover, leaning into the discomfort that often accompanies difficult conversations or change is where true growth happens—both for individuals and organizations. When leaders and teams commit to this kind of courageous engagement, they cultivate an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.

As we move forward, LWCI remains committed to integrating these principles into our work with aging services organizations, helping leaders develop the skills and confidence to make a meaningful and lasting impact on their teams and communities.
