Independent Contractor – Post-Acute Care Clinical Documentation Auditor

LW Consulting, Inc. is seeking experienced post-acute care professionals to join our independent contractor network. This role supports as-needed client engagements focused on clinical documentation accuracy, medical necessity, and regulatory compliance across rehabilitation and post-acute care settings.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct clinical documentation audits for inpatient and outpatient rehab services
- Evaluate medical necessity, billing accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Identify documentation risk and improvement opportunities
- Deliver clear, actionable audit findings and recommendations
- Support providers through education and compliance-focused guidance
What We’re Looking For
- Clinical or operational leadership experience in post-acute care
- Director of Nursing (DON) or Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) experience a plus
- Strong auditing or compliance background in post-acute or rehab settings
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical, audit, or compliance experience
- Working knowledge of reimbursement and regulatory frameworks, including: MS-DRG, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, PDPM/HIPPS, CMGs, RUGs
- Comfortable working independently and meeting project deliverables
- Consulting, compliance, or quality assurance experience preferred
Preferred Credentials
- RAC-CT® (Resident Assessment Coordinator – Certified)
- Relevant professional licensure or certification aligned with post-acute leadership or compliance
